In the lead up to
London Fashion Week, we’re all getting a little excited here at the Head Office. To
relieve you of the struggles of braving the high street or tearing apart your
wardrobe for something truly fabulous to wear to the upcoming shows, we’ve put
together a Lui’s inspired run down of the top 5 trends for the new Season!
1. Sheer Panelling
It’s an old favourite, best suited to the more confident dressers among us, but after the fitness craze that swept the nation over the last two years, there’s more of a reason to be a little more daring with your choices & show off a little skin – especially as the weather starts to warm up.
2. Wide & Free
This one’s a little
reminiscent of the 70’s – bell bottoms & wearing our clogs with culottes
but in more of a timeless sense – seems designers are finally thinking a little
more sustainably?
3. Monochrome
It seems quite a few
trends are staying on from the last few seasons – proving that the invention of
a completely new style of dress to epitomise each and every season may be a
thing of the past. We’re all about neutrals at Lui’s so we’re
happy with this simplicity that seems to be cropping up around the place!
4. Flats
You can hear all the tall
fashion lovers among us rejoice over this one! After fashion went a little
sneaker crazy last season it seems we’re all too fond of keeping those sky-high
stilettos a thing of the past to welcome back a controversial friend – The Birkenstock.
I remember having countless pairs of these as a kid, which I wore with my
cropped trousers – who knew this look would make a comeback?
5. The Crop
We’re all still a little nostalgic over the 90’s with the comeback of the crop top – but this year Designers seem to be giving it a much classier spin.
So that’s our round up for the coming season, personally I’m just glad Christmas sweater trend is over for the year – if I see a diamond incrusted snowman sweater ever again, it will be too soon!
