A True London Gem - The Tate Modern

You can be sure of never being short on things to do when you live in London. Even a rainy day can be forgotten by loosing yourself in a cinema or drinking mulled wine in a cosy pub. But a perfect rainy day attraction is one of the millions of galleries sprawling across the city.

Mostly notorious to London is the Tate Modern. You're welcomed by a grand wide blocky building with a taller vertical centre that seems it could just topple over you as you walk toward it. It's a magnificent feat of architecture - the building is a work of art itself. Inside you're completely spoilt for choice from Realism, to Abstract Expressionism to photography to sculpture and installations… and you can't go wrong with the gift shops - which are an attraction in themselves.

You can finish the day off watching the rain fall into the Thames from the comfort of the espresso bar and ponder over all that you just witnessed. A rainy day in London surely beats a rainy day anywhere else!
